Happy Springtime in Michigan!
Severe weather awareness is important and at OHS, we will have two tornado drills in March: Thursday, the 14th, in 2nd hour & Wednesday, the 20th, in 6th hour. The March 20th date and time aligns with the statewide tornado drill.
During the drill on 3/14, our teachers in 2ndhour will review protocols for a tornado. We will describe a Tornado Watch and Tornado Warning, as well as what to do during a tornado emergency while in a school building (move to an area of safety – all classrooms have assignments of where to stay or relocate, everyone should sit in a low posture shielding face and head, and remain quiet).
During the drill on 3/20 in 6th hour, our students and staff will have the opportunity to practice moving to their area of safety.
