Sept. 14, CTE Training on Campus Yesterday

Dear Oxford High School Students and Parents,

Yesterday, September 13, 2022, our Career Technical Education (CTE) Patient Care Technician class welcomed our local first responders to assist in covering the curriculum by providing training in a real-world classroom experience.  As part of this training an ambulance and the necessary equipment used as part of this training were on our school campus. Given the heightened state of our district, we apologize for not sharing this information with our entire high school community prior to the training so as to not worry those who were not a part of the class.  In the future we will plan to send an email informing our whole school community prior to any CTE related class training that includes emergency vehicles on our campus.

Please know that it is with extreme care and thoughtfulness that we provide these experiences to our Wildcats who are interested in the Health Care field. This is a regular practice of all of our Career and Technical Education programs as we look to prepare our students for their post-secondary plan. Students in our Health Science program are made aware of these training opportunities ahead of time and are excited to build relationships that will foster a life-long connections to those in our community. As we move forward, we will strive to be better in our communication and planning for these experiences.

Sincerely,
Dacia Beazley
Principal
