May 9, Parent Workshop with Dr. Henry

OHS Parents and Guardians—

As time passes from November 30, we are sure as parents you continue to be anxious about the physical, emotional, and psychological impact to your children, both now and in the future.  Additionally, the stress of these concerns likely impacts you as well.  To help our parents and ultimately our students with these challenges, Dr. Henry has offered to facilitate two OHS parent group sessions with the following goals in mind:

  • Provide an understanding of the ongoing traumatic symptoms and potential risks to your children
  • Share strategies to support your children through the summer and into next school year
  • Discuss how to identify and manage your own personal and/or parental stress
  • Share strategies to build resiliency for yourself and children

The format of these two OHS parent groups sessions will be a combination of a brief presentation on the areas above, followed by group discussion Dr. Henry facilitate.  The first session will be held on Monday, May 23, from 6:30 – 8:00pm in the OMS Commons.  The second session will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 6:30 – 8:00pm in the OMS Commons.  We will record both sessions and make them available to parents at a later time if you are not able to attend in person.  We are hoping to keep the groups relatively small (≤ 50) so that more discussion can occur between parents and Dr. Henry.

If you are interested in attending, please take a moment to fill out this sign up form for one of the two sessions.

Thank you,
