March 11, No Threat at OHS

Good morning OHS Families,

We recognize and share our community's heightened sense of vigilance. We are casting a wide net and utilizing our stringent protocols at all levels in Oxford Schools. As such, many student situations are enacting our threat assessment procedures. Late yesterday evening, our central office team became aware of some parent concerns related to a particular threat assessment at the high school.

A student was reported to be viewing hunting rifles and discussing plans to purchase one yesterday. There were no accompanying threats. Our School Resource Officer and administration acted swiftly to investigate and speak with the student and family. They were very cooperative and understanding. The investigation confirmed the student has no access to a weapon and no apparent intent to harm anyone.

Our threat assessment protocols have been followed and there is no active threat at OHS. At no time were any students in danger.

Have a great day,

Oxford Community Schools
