January 11, Thank you for a successful first day

Dear OHS Students and Parents,

There are many steps in our healing journey and today we took one more. This morning 88% of our high school students were present at OMS for their first day back in an educational setting.

Thank you to our outstanding staff, students, and parents for your courage and bravery, your leadership and compassion, your hope and your hugs. Thank you to our law enforcement for your presence today not only at OMS but also in the OHS parking lot as our students boarded the buses to go to OMS. Thank you to all of the mental health professionals who have been there to help us through this journey and were there for those who needed you today. And of course thank you to the therapy dogs that brought so much joy and comfort to our staff and students, especially - Deputy Oxford.

We also understand that each person is on their own timeline of healing.  For our Wildcats who were not ready to come back today, please know we love you, we hope to see you soon and we invite you to watch this morning’s zoom meeting with Dr. Henry:  Dr. Henry Student Presentation Jan 11, 2022 - YouTube.

We have made it one more step forward, growing stronger with each one.

We will forever be changed, but together we are Oxford Strong. Love wins.

Sincerely,
