April 22, Recent Supports

OHS Students and Parent/Guardians -

We wanted to send something out to our students and families today in addition to the announcement that was made this morning during school.  As you may or may not know, a few of our fellow Wildcats have recently lost someone in their lives who were close to them. Situations like this stir up a lot of emotions, which is a natural human response when we experience loss.  Unfortunately, due to what we have endured this year, we have become very skilled in leaning on one another during difficult times of loss, and this is one of those times. All of us know just how important loving one another is when we are working through hard times.  We trust that as classmates, friends and parents we will do our part while tending to our own needs.

If students need support at any time or just need to step out to re-group, they can visit the counseling office.  We have increased support at OHS with additional clinicians on site and also have our safe rooms, counselors, family school liaisons available if needed. We are all here to wrap our arms around our students and support them.  We encourage our students to let a teacher or a trusted adult know throughout the day if they need support, need to regroup or need to speak with someone.

Here is a reminder of our district Supports and Resources for Coping with Trauma link for students, parents and staff to access. Here are some quick resources below to access:
