Welcome to my classroom! I was born and raised in
Belleville, IL. While at Bowling Green State University, I was
assistant director for the Falcon Marching Band and all other athletic
bands and was a teaching assistant for the undergraduate instrumental
teaching methods course.
In Oxford I direct the Wildcat Marching Band, the three High School concert bands and assist with the 6th Grade Beginning Band program. In the past I have taught 7th and 8th Grade
band. During my time at Oxford, the bands have received high ratings at
festivals and competitions in Michigan and performed in numerous
parades across the state. The bands have also given multiple
performances at the Statue of Liberty in New York, been selected to
march at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World three times, and
performed at the Silverdome for a Detroit Lions home game. In addition, I
currently serve as president of the Oxford Education Association, a
position I have held for five years. I have been a member of numerous
school and district-wide committees including the Oxford Schools
Strategic Planning Committee. I hold memberships in the Michigan School
Band and Orchestra Association, Phi Mu Alpha Professional Music
Fraternity, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Fraternity.
My wife Melissa and I have three beautiful
daughters, Hannah, Emma, and Sarah, and one crazy dog, Merida. We reside
in Oxford. When not working with the students of Oxford, I love
spending time with my family, playing golf, traveling, reading, and
relaxing watching sports, especially the Tigers and my beloved St. Louis
Cardinals.
