March 12, OHS to Remain Remote Next Week

Dear OHS Families,

We plan to return to in-person learning as soon as it is safe to do so. At this point, we will continue remote learning throughout next week and anticipate returning in-person on Monday, March 22. We appreciate the families who reported five new cases so far today and anticipate additional positive tests throughout the weekend and early next week based on exposure dates and the information we have available to us. We are maintaining remote learning throughout next week to ensure all students who were in contact with positive cases are identified.

Our high school administration is still identifying close contacts of current cases. They will continue to make calls to quarantine students over the next several days. We urge you to monitor your child for symptoms. If your child is showing symptoms and/or tests positive, we urge you to please report it to Principal Wolf at This information allows us to continue to notify exposed students in an effort to keep us all safe.

We recognize the frustration and disappointment so many of our students are feeling as they are not only missing school but also important sporting events, competitions, and other activities because of the cancelations related to this outbreak. If your child is experiencing strong emotions during this time, we encourage them to reach out to the OHS Wellness Team at Students may also visit OHS Connects for resources on mental, physical, and social health.

Our community has faced this pandemic together from the start. We look forward to safely returning to face-to-face instruction and seeing all of our students back in school together once more, healthy and safe. We will find our way through this temporary situation, Wildcats, and be stronger for it.

Best Regards,

Superintendent Tim Throne
