ASVAB Career Exploration Exam at OHS - November 3rd
Oxford High School will be hosting the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (exam) on Wednesday, November 3 2021, from 7:15 am to 10:15 am (arrival at 7:00 am in Room 216).
The EXAM is FREE and participation is VOLUNTARY. To register for this exam - simply fill out this form.
ASVAB CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM EXAM INFORMATION
Traditionally, the ASVAB has been seen and used as a military entrance exam. While the military does use a portion of the exam to assess potential military candidates, the exam has evolved into a career exploration and planning resource for students. The ASVAB assesses academic ability and predicts success in a variety of careers.
Oxford High School does not give military recruiters your student's ASVAB exam results without your consent. If your student has no interest in military programs, they can still participate and use the career results from the exam, in collaboration with Naviance Student, to help guide them toward a post-secondary career path. ( www.asvabprogram.com/general-resources)
If your student is looking to join the military, simply let us know and we will release the exam information accordingly.
Once the results are in, the student and OHS counselor will receive the results and an ASVAB administrator will return to OHS to conduct a post-test interpretation and explain what the results mean.
To register for this exam - simply fill out this form. Confirmation and exam information materials will be sent to the student.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Farwell- Career Navigator in the Counseling Office.
Now HIRING
Congratulations on 5th Place Regional Finish - Alex McArthur
Alex finished 5th at regionals on Friday in the mud! It was potentially the hardest boys region in the state. According to Coach Petersimes, team historian/ CC coach, "I’m not sure if we have had a better performance from a boy at our regional , let alone a Frosh. At the two mile mark he was in mid teens, at end 1.8 seconds from 3rd!"
