Please note, this Wildcat News update is a work in progress. We will continue to update it over the weekend.
Why is 1st Period Listed Twice (& one is blue)?
The blue section of first period is led by Dr. Henry, via live deed. After Dr. Henry's presentation our first period teachers will begin their lesson (social emotional work, class discussion regarding grading, and small elements of content as students indicate need).
The schedule IS tentative and subject to change.
OMS classroom assignments will be placed in this Wildcat News on Sunday night.
In a fashion very similar to what we experienced at the Legacy Center, students can expect to see Therapy Dogs, Crisis Counselors, and Oakland County Sheriff at OMS. This will be in addition to our Deputy Oxford (Oxford's Therapy Dog), OHS Social Work/Counseling/Family School Liaisons, and OHS Security Team.
Parking Restrictions at OMS:
Due to limited parking spaces at Oxford Middle School we must limit the onsite parking at OMS. During each ½ day at OMS (Jan 11, 13, 18, 20), on-site parking will be limited to 12th Grade students only. We encourage our senior drivers to carpool with siblings and friends when possible.
All 10th and 11th grade drivers will need to park in the north lot at Oxford High School and shuttle by OCS buses to OMS. Shuttles will run from OHS to OMS beginning at 7:15 and will run until 7:35 for arrival for the start of school at 7:48.
- When arriving at OHS, students simply need to board an available bus to be transported to OMS. The last shuttle will leave OHS at approximately 7:35.
- At the end of the school day, students will board the waiting buses on the east side of OMS to be transported back to the OHS parking lot.
- To assist in transportation and ensure sufficient parking is available, utilizing the Oxford Community Schools bus system or carpooling is strongly encouraged.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department will be on site at both the OHS parking lot and at OMS for the safety and security of students, staff, and parents.
Student Drop Off at OMS:
All student drop off and pick up will occur in the north parking lot at OMS as 12th grade student parking and bus drop off and pick up will be located in the east parking lot (please see map).
Families will use the right lane coming into the school on Wildcat Drive, the gym entrance, for drop off and pick up. The left lane that travels to the flagpole is designated for 12 grade drivers, staff, and 30 plus buses that are transporting our students. We will have staff in designated areas to assist with traffic flow. Our main goal is to get all students in and out of cars and buses efficiently and safely. Please note the speed limit on Wildcat Drive is 15 MPH.
Bus Drop-Off and Pick-Up at OMS:
All bus drop offs and pick ups at OMS will occur along the sidewalk on the east side of OMS. This is the side of the building near the main entrance. Only buses are permitted to drop off by this main entrance and office area.

HOSA State Qualifiers
State Honors Choir Qualifiers
Zander Warstler and Ella P’Simer, participated in Regional Honors Choir. Needless to say, they were both anxious to participate but knew it would help bring a small sense of normalcy to them.
Both performed beautifully and qualified for State Honors Choir. They will be singing with students from all over the state in Grand Rapids this January at the DeVos Center.
Computer Programming
OHS Computer Programming students learned the necessary skills for communication in the workplace from professional public speaking coach, Jon Kelch. The topics ranged from how to be an effective listener to the key strategies to giving a presentation. Junior Samuel Dietker and Freshman Jack Bracci exemplified what it means to be a risk taker and were rewarded $20! Jon’s closing message was to make sure you can see your goal and dig deep to accomplish it.
