13 Reasons Why NOT

Press Conference Photo

On May 1, a group of Oxford High School students took a risk and launched the 13 Reason Why NOT initiative. For 13 consecutive school days, a student shares over the loud speaker his or her most painful struggle that had some of them considering suicide BUT then finishes by thanking those who gave hope and helped them get through their darkest moments.

The stories shared have opened dialogue about suicide and already proven to give courage, hope, and resources for help to other students who have been silently sitting in pain.

Our courageous students have been given the opportunity to share their anti-suicide message to reach beyond Oxford and make a global impact. Media outlets, world-wide, have taken notice of the 13 Reasons Why NOT initiative resulting in numerous articles, interviews:

Congratulations to all of our staff and students involved! Their brave and self-less compassion is inspiring more than we will ever truly know.  We are so proud of our Wildcats, "...tomorrow’s leaders".
