Local Scholarships

The majority of Local Scholarships will start rolling in at the end of December.   Scholarship applications can be downloaded from this page or picked up in the Counseling Office. 

»Addison Firefighter's Association
Due Date: April 12, 2024 -  3:00 pm

Applicants must be a graduating Oxford High School Senior with a GPA of 3.2 or higher and planning on further their education in Fire Study, Fire Science, Emergency Medical Tech or Emergency Management.

»DA/OES Alumi Scholarship
Due Date: April 8, 2024 by 3:00 pm in the counseling office. 
Applicants must be a graduating Oxford High School Senior and an alumni of Daniel Axford and/or Oxford Elementary School.

Lewis Wilson Music Scholarship
Open to OHS seniors who demonstrate commitment to musical endeavors and plan to pursue a college major or minor in the area of vocal or instrumental music at an accredited college or university.  Online application, audition and interview are required.  Award Amount: $1000

Knights of Columbus #7018 St. Clement of Rome Church College Scholarship
Area high school seniors who actively participate in the St. Clement of Rome Parish (Romeo, MI) throughout high school.  Essay Response.  Award amount: $500

Russell W. Ligon Memorial Engineering Scholarship
Seniors and recent graduates in seven area school districts who plan to pursue a degree in an engineering or computer science field.  Letter of Recommendation.  Essay response. GPA≥3.00.  Award amount: $1000

MI Association of Professional Insurance Agent
Open to seniors and recent graduates of high schools throughout the State of MI who are planning to major in Risk Management/Insurance.  A student may receive up to four awards.  Essay response.  Award amount: $1000-$2000

Leadership in Philanthropy Scholarship
Open to students who have actively participated in the Foundation's Youth Advisory Committee for two of more years.  Essay Response.  Award amount: $1500-$2000

»Genisys Credit Union Scholarship
Due Date: April 17, 2024 -  3:00 pm

Applicants must be a graduating Oxford High School Senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  Students may attend any college, university, trade school, or employer-sponsored skilled trade apprenticeship program and choose any course of study as a full time student. Applicants must submit an essay, artwork, video, or music, etc. explaining “What does the Oxford community mean to you?


2024 Genisys Community Pride Scholarship Application


James "Jamie" Charles Scholarship
Due Date: January 5, 2024

This memorial scholarship is available to graduating seniors who possess the qualities Jamie embodied: good attitude, good citizenship, community involvement, friendship and sportsmanship.

»Lone Ranger Scholarship
Due Date: April 29, 2024

The Lone Ranger Scholarship will be awarded to any OHS graduating senior who is a resident of the Oxford Area Community Schools District.
  That person will be selected based on actions and activities which are consistent with the values of the historic Lone Ranger character as delineated by the Lone Ranger Creed.

»Norah's Bridal Scholarship
Due Date: April 12, 2024


The scholarship is available to Graduating seniors of Oxford School District or attending an Oxford Michigan area school with a 2.0 GPA or higher.  This scholarship can be used for community college, trade school, college or university.

On A Dragonfly’s Wings Scholarship Program is designed for those graduating high school and pursuing a higher level of education in the field of mental health. This includes fields such as psychology, social work, counseling, or recreational therapy.

»OCTEA Scholarship
Due Date: March 22, 2024

If you are enrolled in a State approved Career & Technical Education program (CTE) and a graduating senior with a GPA of 2.0 or higher apply for the OCTEA scholarship. You have the opportunity to be awarded a $500.00 scholarship.

»Oxford American Legion Scholarships
Due Date: April 15, 2024

-Oxford American Legion Scholarship
For graduating seniors who have maintained a 2.75 or higher are eligible for this scholarship.  The selection will be made on the students academic standing, goals and intentions, involvement in community and school activities.

»Oxford American Legion - Boys' State Scholarship
Due Date: May 1, 2023

The purpose of the Michigan American Legion Boys’ State program is to educate young men in the internal workings of our form of government. This is achieved by providing a stage from which to learn, by allowing them to create the 51st State in the Nation. This State includes all forms of government at the city, county, and state level. They might become a deputy sheriff of a county or be elected governor. They learn from being involved. Involvement is what makes a difference in our form of government. We hope that our program is a stepping stone to bigger and better things for all those who attend.

The purpose of the ALA Girls State program is to provide a nonpartisan participatory program that teaches eligible high school females responsible citizenship grounded in ethics, the principles of our nation’s founders and respect for God and Country.

»Oxford American Legion - Student Trooper Scholarship
Due Date: April 10, 2023

The American Legion, Department of Michigan in partnership with the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing provides an opportunity for high School students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades to learn about a career in law enforcement.  Students spend one week at the Michigan State Police Training site learning many aspects of a law enforcement career.

To support Oxford Open Handed’s mission of encouraging everyone to live open-handedly, we want to provide seniors graduating from Oxford Virtual Academy, Oxford High School, or Oxford Bridges High School the opportunity to discuss how you have given back to your community during high school.  Your essay should focus on the impact that you have had on your community or an individual while highlighting your personal growth journey.

»Oxford Wildcat Booster Club Scholarships
Due Date: April 19, 2024


• Oxford Wildcat Booster Club Athletic Scholarship
An award in the amount of $1,000 each will be presented to a 12th Grade senior male and female student athlete at Oxford High School who has earned a varsity letter in at least two different Booster supported sports/programs, who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, demonstrated high moral character and service to the community and their school.

• Oxford Wildcat Booster Club Vocational & Trades Scholarship
An award in the amount of $1000 each will be presented to a 12th Grade senior male and female student athlete at Oxford High School who has earned a varsity letter in at least one Booster supported sport or program.

One award in the amount of $500 will be presented to an Oxford High School senior who intends to major in the field of Education and who is in good academic standing and on track to graduate.

»Oxford Junior Wildcats (OJW) Scholarship
Due Date: April 12, 2024

An award in the amount of $500 will be presented to a senior student at Oxford High School who was an athlete in the Oxford Junior Wildcats program and was either a football player or cheerleader for at least 3 years in High School, and who demonstrated strong academic achievement, community service, and leadership qualities.

The Randy Moreau Community Service Memorial Scholarship is available to Oxford Seniors graduating with a 2.0 or better.  Community Service is the focus of the scholarship, therefore applicants must have a service hours to be eligible.

This scholarship is for graduating seniors who are Oxford residents, attend Oxford school and are planning on continuing their education by either attending college or a trade school.

The Myre family established this scholarship to continue Tate Myre's legacy.  Tate was a driven and selfless leader.  He was trustworthy and loyal with a bright future.  Tate was wise beyond his years and will be remembered for his mentorship and dedication to those younger than him.   This scholarship will assist students pursuing secondary education thru college or a skilled trade.

»Thrive Scholarship
Due Date: May 1, 2024

The Thrive Scholarship Program is designed for members graduating high school and pursuing an education at a university, college, or technical school. As part of our commitment to Caring for the Community, we will award a $2,000 scholarship to 10 deserving members each year.  Participants must be a 2024 grad, be a Vibe Credit Union member in good standing, maintain a 3.0 GPA and submit a 300 word essay.
